    I need to get a new lcd monitor, and it will be used for gaming but I dont want nothing to pricey. Are there any things i should look for in the specs of a monitor as some have huge differences in price. Im going for a 17" and I noticed pcworld have one for 216 euros...which seems alot cheaper than ones hitting the 400 mark what could be so much different really?

    No, and dont' be fooled by response times, 25ms is all you need, 16ms is the most i'd spend money on

    It depends on how good you are at your games (assuming FPS games)

    cant go wrong -> http://www.komplett.ie/k/kl.asp?bn=10398
    some ppl dont like buying lcd monitors online as they r afraid of dead pixels etc, but i got mine with komplett and not a single one :) (ofcourse i cud have just been lucky)
    u want the respone rate to b below 16ms and tbh almost all are these days
    the native resoulation is important as u basicly cant change it (at the cost of image quailty ofcourse)
    something to note 17" uses 1280*1024 while 19" also uses 1280*1024
    so u can get an extra 2 inches of space on the same res.
    the dearer ones will connect throught dvi which ur graphics card will need but u can get convertors easily
