Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mauritius is fantastic. The island is quite poor and the towns show this. But there are no beggars. The beaches are mostly private, run by the hotels and so are never packed. And the scenery is to die for.

Lots of 2 location honeymoon's on offer (check eBookers). Such as Dubai and
    Mauritius:

Would highly recommend Trailfinders though. We have just booked our honeymoon for after Xmas - Dublin - London - Hong Kong - Cairns - Sydney - Melbourne - Christchurch - Hawaii - L.A. - Dublin.

We're getting married in July and we are going to Rome for 4 nights then down to Positano for 10 nights.

Fly with Aer Lingus to Rome, back from Naples.

Residence Barberini is our accomodation in Rome and www.edenroc.it is the hotel in Positano.

Haggle with Italian hotels if you are staying more than a week. We got a 10% discount for "payment by cash" !

I'll give another vote for Santorini, especially Oia - much more honeymoon-esque than Thira (the main town). We stayed at Nikos Villas - right on the cliff - view of the sun setting over the Caldera every evening. Take one of the boat trips out to the hot springs and the "burned islands" i.e. hardened lava out in the Caldera. Would make it a point to tour a winery if I was doing it again.

We also did a few days in Mykonos after - fun, but not very honeymoony.

After that we toured around The Peloponnese (southern peninsula on the mainland) for a week, which was very nice:
Ruins at Mycenae and Epidaurus - Amazing.
Napflion - Beautiful Venetian City, only regret was that we didn't stay right downtown, or have more time there.
Ancient Olympia - Really cool to see. Should have stayed in nearby Modern Olympia - very pretty town.
    Patras - Sh**hole - don't go near the place.
Diakofto-Kalavryta Railroad - Famous engineering feat: Railroad up a steep mountain that drops down a cog wheel and drags itself along the really steep parts. Very cool if you are a train fan / engineering nerd like me. Wouldn't bother otherwise.
Ancient Delphi - Very well preserved ancient site right up on top of a huge mountain, overlooking Gulf of Corinth.
Athens - Did a day and half here. Had been told it was a dirty city, but they must have cleaned it up for the Olympics. Stayed at the Plaka hotel - right downtown with a view of the Acropolis. Had a nice rooftop deck. Only regret not having more time. Taxi drivers are crooks in Athens - got badly ripped off getting dropped to the airport. Would seriously consider using the (brand new) train line the next time.
