    Irish Shell.
Recently bought out by Ion Equity:
    http://www.ionequity.com/PDF/Topaz%20announces%20the%20purchase%20of%20Shells%20retail15.07.05.pdf
However, still trades under the Shell name and has been coming under pressure from boycotts and bad image management due to the Rossport 5 debacle.
However, this is all because of Enterprise Ireland, an arm of Shell Exploration, and the Corrib Gas field - "Irish Shell" as it's known now has nothing to do with this.
Not many people are aware of this situation, leading to an even harder time for all those involved in the company.

The Apple iPod Nano, it's got a few big problems I can think of that have been voiced recently by consumers, too flimsy, screen breaks, faulty batteries.

yeah, thought of throwing that in, but thats a global campaign facing the same problems in all the different markets.
The fact he was asked specifically of a good/service sold in Ireland , I thought it best to pick one and explain its problems in this market.

all it has to be is a product or service sold in ireland, whether its sold abroad or not is irrelevant

How about RTE? It's increasingly seen as the old man of Irish media and needs a re-shape to continue being a real proposition in a multi-channel landscape.
