lads/lassies, thinking about getting a dvd recorder for the house but not too sure of them, does it start getting complicated when you connect them up to digital (ntl) and was thinking bout getting the LG one from komplett.ie.....

They are no more complicated then VCR's to use. You only need to be sure what DVD format they record on. (+-RAM). Recording from Digital means you have to leave the NTL box on the channel you want to record unless it has an autoview feature like Sky.
    Hope this helps

I have just ordered a Sumvision SV-1001 DVD recorder from http://www.svp.co.uk

Bargain price at €155 including postage.

    (See http://www.sumvision.com.cn/Dvdplayer.shtml#SV1001 for more details)

Despite being a cheap Chinese brand, this machine does a lot for the price - good reviews certainly on http://www.thedvdforums.com

(You'll need to register and do a search for "Sumvision")

Records to DVD+R and DVD+RW, can be played back on PC, compatible with most formats (CD, MP3, JPG, etc.)

But the real clincher with this baby is that it can play Divx/Xvid, perfect for watching stuff you've got from your 'cousins' in the US.

    :D:D:D
