Been looking at these things online for ages. Was in town today so stopped into Perfect Pitch and picked one up. An A10 model with Mahogany back and sides and a cedar top I think. I'm now tempted to sell every piece of music equipment I have and get one :(

They have 2 left in the shop at the moment. They had around 6 last time I checked. One is a very high end A85 for €6600  and the A10 is a more modest €2250 but my god is the sound beautiful. And it's incredibly light

If you play acoustic and are passing by the shop, go in and try it. I went and played some "high end" Taylors afterwards and although nice they didnt come close to the McIlroy even though the were more expensive

They said they're expecting 10 more in March. I think I'll wait until then and go in and try a few of the different woods to compare the sound. Hopefully I'll have the money by then but if not I'm selling something to get one. Birthday in March so just in time

Anyway just thought I'd tell you about them since I wouldnt say a lot of people know about them or have had the chance to play one. I have some serious, serious GAS now :(

So your advice is that if you want to eat for the next few months, stay away from Perfect Pitch? ;)

Something like that. lol. Just dont pick up the A85 ;) . I would like to have played it but I figured I'd only be torturing myself so went for what would be within my budget next year

Well my mind is made up. I'm buying a McIlroy next year. Was in contact with a seller and waiting for a reply from Dermot McIlroy also. He's taking deposits now for guitars to be made in April

Hoping to have the money around March so that works out handy enough. Thinking of going for an A25 with Walnut back and sides and a Cedar Top. Should cost about €2000 which is great value really for a guitar of such quality. Hoping to put the deposit down this week or next. Cant wait :D:D:D

I've bought one!!! Bought it through the States at Shoreline Music (online, look 'em up). Bought an A35c with Celtic Knot inlay and pick-up (haven't decided which pick up yet though). Way cheaper - Same guitar would have cost me over 3 grand with Perfect Pitch. Through the states its costing me $2600.00. It won't be ready until January, so I just drive up there and pick it up, and hence (hopefully!!!) avoid import duties!!! Class! I played that A85 in Perfect Pitch! WOW!! What a guitar.....forget Martin Taylor.....even forget Lowden....the McIlroy is just AMAZING!!! And for such a price!!!!!

I was in contact with Shoreline last night and also with Dermot himself. Been waiting for them to anounce the winner of the comp. Whats the Rosewood/Cedar combo like? Have you played those woods before? The A10 was a Sitka/Mahogany combo and had a really nice bright shimmering sound. Lots of high end. The A25 Cedar/walnut combo gets great reviews but I've never played those woods together

I think I'll prob be doing the same as you though. John from Shoreline was saying I could order it from him for $2400 (€2000) by putting down a $1000 deposit to get on the build queue for April. Then I can either pick it up myself or get it delivered. Might go for the A25

How did you get the cutaway and inlay added for a total of $2600 when the cutaway alone is $200 more. Did you get it before the price rised from $2000 to $2400 for the standard model? Any idea how much it is for just the inlay work? Either way thats a really good price for the guitar you're getting
