The photography thread have a "photo challenge", so I thought perhaps we could have an "advertising challenge".
Say someone gives a sample brief of a real-world or fictional product, and then we chip in with our own ideas or perhaps sample press / print ads.
    What do you think?
Would be fun to see the creative juices here at work... perhaps some of those people not in the industry could come up with something far better than the standard thats out there at the moment.
Or perhaps we could just post ideas of ads you've always wished a certain product or service would use.
    Any thoughts?
I thought advertising freaks like me might enjoy this :D

I can give you a real world product.

The company is ConstructionTenders.ie a brand new website aimed at the construction industry.

It advertises both private and public tenders / request for quotations and also has a news section.

The reason behind the site is to create a more efficient market place for the gathering of quotations. Instead of tender owners relying on a rolodex of names and spending ages chasing people for prices. They advertise on ConstructionTenders.ie and anyone who is interested in quoting for the job can do so.

The brief is to advertise the site to architects and quantity surveryors, informing them of these benefits. The secondary brief is to advertise the news section as a new daily source of construction news. All has to be done on a tight budget.

Once people have posted a few ideas, I will stick up a few that we have currently lined up. If someone comes up with an idea we use, a case of beer from realbeers.ie will be sent out to them.

If you don't want us to use your idea, please state it in your post.

If this isn't allowed let me know and I will delete the post

    Cheers

    Fintan

this example ad, for an architects or quantity surveryors trade magazine, emphises your point and sells the site I think.
It's supposed to be big and brash to spring out and get your attention... to many trade ads are just all detail.
It's as if the trusted rolodex is telling its owner to use your site instead.
I'd push this whole idea through more ads.
Whipped it up in a couple of minutes...
Feel free to use the idea.

Whiskeyman the idea is brilliant well done!

The thing about magazine ads is that they are extremely expensive.

I should have stated we would like a guerrilla marketing campaign, backed up a viral email / text message.

Case of this http://www.realbeers.ie/shop/product_detail.aspx?pdid=150 for every idea used
