Ello all, well it has come that time again. Serenity is released with Previews on the 6th. Then released nation wide on the 7th. So I was thinking, Who would be up to going to see it on the Saturday the 8th. For some drinks before in the cinema and then some drinks after in the wool shead?

So, thats Saturday the 8th, Time to be announced.. and in UGC in Dublin. Who would be up for it?

What time were you thinking? Early evening (8:00 p.m.)?

Yeah, last time I looked at the UGC website it had not times for friday or Saturday up. But I would recken the closest screening to 8pm would be best. In terms of 8 or just after.

Hmmmm well the times aren't the best.
    SERENITY (15A)
    	Directed by: Joss Whedon
Starring: Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk
    	08/10: 10:30, 13:00, 15:50, 18:45, 22:00

So what time would suit most? I guess the 6:45pm would be the best. That way we can head out after. Anyone up for it?

The hell?! 5 start times on the opening weekend!? For God's sake The 40-Year-Old Virgin () and Tara Road () have more start times than Serenity or even Night Watch!

I'm going on Thursday at 9 in UGC and Friday at 8.20 in Savoy. Hopefully I'll get in for a Saturday show as well.

Just back from the UGC, apparently there's no certificate been issued yet so they can't show it legally.

They have no idea when they'll start screening it.

also ugc/cineworld is still taking bookings over the phone and online....... scaremongering shít?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 935 ✭✭✭Mixie

If you go into the UGC they'll tell you the same. On their displays all Serenity showtimes are coloured out as unavailable too (which was why I asked in the first place). Obviously they (2 of 'em) were mistaken.

Oh well, off to London tomorrow, I'll have to wait till I get back I guess.

Yeah, I went in to see it, but decided instead it'd be more fun to skip the movie so that I could annoy you on some internet forum...

I just thought I'd warn those who might have spent considerable time trying to get to the UGC tonight to see it, and all I did was repeat what I was told. :(

What could I possibly have to gain by telling you it wasn't showing?

    tickets gone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,109 ✭✭✭sutty

Right, I have booked my ticket, so if anyone wants to meet up at 6pm in the bar in the UCD in Dublin, please do. You can find a pic of me on know your nerds. I also have a tattoo on my right inner forearm and have a shaved head... (I'm a nice person really :D), so I'm not hard to miss. See you all there and after I hope. I will be going to the woolshead after it as well.

Its the 6:45 screening and meeting for a drink or two at 6pm :)

I'll be bringing a group of friends who I'm basically gonna have to look after so I can't really get away. If I see you I'll pop over to say hi and meet any other Boardsies who might be there.

Actually, I'm not planned to meet my friends til 18:20 so maybe I'll come by early and stay for a few minutes.
