    That's at least 5 too many :p

Is it just me or are those fanned frets actually curved?

I think it's just you. The headstock is bent though

Man Id hate to have to fork out to change those strings with elixers.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

It would only be two packs of strings probably...

120 on strings is still alot for one bass.

Jesus, that looks amazing, but what is the logic behind the seemingly twisted neck?

:D Now that's fukin ridiculous and pretty sad. Come on FFS. 11 string bass??? For what??? What a muppet. ;)

I'm sorry, but if the fellow can play it, then it's not sad, nor is he a muppet. And seeing as the pictures say jeanbaudin.com then damn, that cat can play like most of us could only dream of.

    Look at this.

I've tried playing like that myself, and I simply don't have the coordination to do it. :o
    That man is something else.

Karl. The use of :D and ;) should have let you know that I wasn't entirely serious. How could I call someone I know nothing about a muppet except in jest. I agree, he seems to be very talented. (but I do know talented muppets too ;) )

Don't see why he doesn't take up the Harp if he wants lots of strings. A beautiful instrument that requires talent to play. :D (Joking) Don't ban me....

Byootiful. Love the vaguely medieval look to it, too

I quite like the look of that actually. I don't think I could play it in any meaningful way but nice in a kind of rugged way.

Ken Lawrence does make some savage instruments in fairness.

Well, the second pack would probably be guitar strings, so more like 75 really. :D

That is not a bass. It's some kind of bastard member of the guitar family, but it's not a bass. If you bunged 11 strings on an unfretted string instrument and called it a cello, your body would never be found. It's time we had a few standards too. :)

I was actually wondering why they even bothered putting an upper body on that Stick.
