FX Pedal Press Delay?

I might be behind the times at the moment, but about 4 years ago I bought a Korg multi-effects pedal for about E150, but it bugged the **** out of me because when you hit the pedal to turn it on there was a delay of about 1/3 of a second before it came on while it sampled. My buddy had a pedal with the same problem.

I was thinking of getting a relatively cheap multi-effects pedal (dont use effects too much) and was thinkin about one of there:

Do pedals still have that stupid delay or is it only a cheap pedal problem or what? Havent used pedals in ages.

<5ms latency? You might hear that actually, even though it sounds small. The GT-8 compensates for latency by mergeing the old effect into the new one or something. It works well.

u will have to pay for seemless effects changes...if u don't use effects that much then just buy the ones u wanna use in single compact pedal format

I might not use them often, but I want several individual effects for just one or two songs. Cant justify big bucks or lots of pedals.

The ear can hear 5ms latency alright. Probably negligible though. Lots of pedal threads. Nobody has advice on a cheap FX pedal though. If anyone has any thoughts other than "spend more money" please feel free... :)

It actually can't. You can perceive waveform interaction as a result of a 5ms delay, and you can hear clicks or pops as a result of a broken waveform, but an actual 5ms discontinuity is inperceivable.

That actually looks really cool jcoot, but as you say, almost doubles with shipping. If a friend is getting from thomann soon I might put in a request.

Stick your pedal through a true bypass box.
