Following on from the thread posted by JTsuited, please post below if you would be interested in playing a cash game comprising Hold'em, Omaha, Stud, Razz, Omaha eight or Better and possibly some other games. the game may be more dealer's choice than H.O.R.S.E., but we'll decide those details once we know whether there is interest for a game such as this.

Once I have a core group of players I'll try to organise a day and time. I'll organise the venue, the dealer and the chips, so again don't worry about those details.

Important right now is what size of game people would like to play. I assume that nobody wants to play a game smaller than 2/4 (blinds 1/2, limits 2/4) or bigger than 5/10. Post your preference in the poll.

For stud there should be antes, though I don't see that being feasible at 2-4 (unless we bring a load of 20 cent pieces to the table)

Are these pot-limit/no-limit/half-pot-limit or limit? I believe the traditional HORSE event in the WSOP was a limit tournament but most people here would rather play big bet. Maybe we would have some of each.

I would like something between 50-1 and 1-2 big bet, or 4-8 to 8-15 limit. 50p ante, half pot limit wouldn't be a particularly big game if you want to work antes into stud.

Alright Mark, I'd be interested in that just to get a feel for all the other games, but I reckon the lowest possible limits would suit me best as I'll inevitably lose a bit before I get the hang of the various different games.

i just saw this poll after i posted on jtsuited and i have to say that the blinds are too much. keep them less than a euro each otherwise the fun is gone and it gets too serious too soon. just my opinion, i may be wrong but i won't be playing in it if i have to worry about the cost.

I personally don't think that this game is meant to be fun. I'd simply like to play a cash game with various games that aren't hold'em. I very rarely want to play cash games for any other reason than to make money, so I would be voting for blinds of at least 2/4. Otherwise my time could definitely be more profitably spent elsewhere.

Having said that, that's only my opinion, and if people want to get together and play some nickle and dime poker I'll still organise it, But I won't be playing, I'll be dealing.

As far as limit vs big bet is concerned. If people prefer big bet I suggest blinds of 1/2 for Hold'em, Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo. antes of 50c for stud and razz. I suggest that Hold'em and Omaha be pot limit, with the stud variations being half-pot trebling.

Personally I think that the game would be much better if at least the omaha and stud variations were played as fixed limit but with limits at at least 4/8.

Id love to play this, but wont bet in the country. Id advise playing 7cs pot or half pot limit. Great game.

Marq, I think you're one of the few players here that would be good enough to be playing these various games with blinds of at least 2/4 (I may be proved wrong about that of course). Perhaps u should get people into the game with low blinds and try to up the stakes in the near future as more people start to get the hang of it or if the game expands. I'm sure you're a vastly superior all round player than me so I myself would stay away from anything higher than 1/2. I'd be up for Doc's nickel and dime game and I think that's what Jeff was really getting at in the other thread.. just a bit of fun but not for serious cash.

Remember this is limit so 2 4 is quite low stakes, nothing like nl 24.

I think it would be best to alter the blinds depending on the game. 1/2 for NLHE (or 5/10 if its LMHE), 1/2 for omaha and maybe 2/4 for the 7 street games.

As Hector points out, 2/4 is actually a very very small game. Blinds are 1/2 and the betting before and on the flop is in incremets of 2 euro. On fourth and fifth street the limit doubles to increments of 4 euro. When you do the complex maths, you see that the most you could lose in a hand if it were capped on every street (a bet and three raises) is 48 quid. At 3/6, 72, at 4/8, 96, and at 5/10, the most you could lose in a pot is 120. It's very rare that a pot is capped on every street. It would take two or three hands that thought they were invincible. In a pot-limit or no-limit game if you would lose your whole tank with them. in limit the most you can lose is 12 big bets.

Considering that many of us here play big-bet cash games either live or online where the buy-in is 50 or moer, I'm surprised that people would prefer to play such a small limit game.

I'd like to play all of these games limit, as I said, I'll play any level. the reason that I'd like to play every game as limit is because I'd like the pots to be of a similar size in each game, and this is higly unlikely if some of the games are big bet and the others limit. that and the game will most likely last a whole lot longer if it's played as a limit game.

As I said above, if people prefer big-bet poker, then pot limit and half-pot trebling are the best ways to play these games. Blinds 1/2, antes 50c.

I'm also playing so that Marq can make money.

yeah i'd be very interested in the horse game. I'd like to broaden my perspective with a variety of games anyway. Once the limits aren't monstrous count me in. :D
