Im 20, im in college and 5 weeks ago i broke up with my girlfriend. i didnt want to, but it happened, and theres nothing i can do about it because shes moved to another country. i want to move on, i feel ready, but im just not sure how to go about it.

theres someone i like, and im thinking about making a move, but how the hell do i know if she's got a bf or not (she hasnt mentioned one) and whether she's interested. furthermore, is there a way to get her out with me in a situation where she wont be totally pissed drunk, cause then if i do anything she'll think i only wanna score her and im interested in something more meaningful then that

Ask her out for a drink - no point making it any more complicated than it is. Just ask her, worst that can happen is she'll say no!

why not just ask her out for lunch or a coffee? then you avoid the whole getting pissed scenario which all too often seems to be a mandatory step in the Irish mating ritual :p . At least this way you can have a decent chat without shouting over music etc, and without trying to remember the next day how things went. Also it's a nice neutral way to sound out what she thinks of you, you should be able to decide where to go next if you do it right.

    Good luck anyway
