Sky Multi Room Question...

    Quick one for you guys...

moved house a few weeks ago and ordered sky+ and sky multiroom..
the engineer came and installed the dish and the sky+ box but did not do the multiroom as he did not bring a second digibox, sky did post out two viewing cards one of which we are using in the sky+ box.

I phoned sky and they said that they assumed we had a digibox from a previous install but were too stupid to realise that the digibox was still in use at the other address. They said we needed to pay for the extra digibox and get the engineer out again to do the install.. more weeks waiting..

so my question is this.. i managed to get me hands on a digibox off a boardser.
is it as simple as connecting a cable to the lnb on the dish (there are 2 free ports on the lnb) connecting it to the digibox and activating the card?

REmember to connect 2nd box to phone line or you could end up paying 2 subs!

plus, git, remember to use dsl filters on the phone lines, or everytime the sky box rings it'll disconnect the dsl line.

The only thing that's going to be at all tricky is the cable itself, you'll need to get a roll somewhere, cut it and crimp on the f-connectors, none of it particularly tricky but a complete DIY novice might have problems.

Not sure where the best place to get the cable, the good quality stuff is sold in 100m reels, but I'm sure some places will cut a length - maplin anyone? It's cheap enough so maybe just buy 100m and sell the rest.

Unless you have the exact connectors, the exact cable and good crimp tool and know how to use it stick to the screw on F-Connectors.
