Designer Jeans

Why do people spend, say, €300 or more on a pair of designer jeans when you can get a pair for far less in a chain store? Is it just to have a trendy label or are there other benefits?

I've tried on a few pairs in BT's but I can't for the life of me see why they might be considered supreior to cheaper jeans.

same reason some spend €80 on a t-shirt in some places.
It's all about brand and demand...
When it comes to quality, I've always found that it's more or less the same once you get over the €50 mark.
I guess anything after that is all about personal preferance.
Fit is important, but there should be enough choice out there to find a good fit without resorting to a pair for €300

Depends on the type of clothes. I've walked into BTs and found jumpers/sweaters for 200 quid whose quality were appalling. But with things like suits it can be amazing the difference in fit. Very expensive but the fit and feel of them can be unmatched tbh.

I think it's got a lot to do with the brand in question. Some brands really are better quality, some are just a name and nothing more.

I think people who spend that much on jeans are very brand conscious, sad really. They will tell you that they buy it for the quality but that is ballony  , a 100E pair will be just as good.
I am a man of quality, not quantity, but 300E is overboard, ill spend 100E or less on jeans :).

Better fit. If cheaper jeans or clothes had a fit closer to that used on models then the average man wouldnt fit in them and buy them. If you are the right shape you will know what I mean.

Plus theres the fact that expensive jeans can be a bit more unusual and unique. That and the fact that **** all people will buy them means that you can be sure of exclusivity.

    yeah, I'm the same.
There always seems to be good jeans on sale somewhere for around the €50 mark that have been reduced lots :D
It's really all about shopping around - I'd say now could be a good time before the shops gear up for Christmas.

I'd never have considered a pair of jeans past €70/80 but I worked in a place called o connors that sold g-stars, they gave a generous discount so bought a pair that usually cost €160. Don't work there now but I'd be willing to pay full price as their fitting is just so superior to Levi's etc.

I've never paid over €60 for a pair of jeans, but I think I would if they were a brilliant fit. Jeans are something you get so much wear out of

I got the most brilliant pair of jeans for €15 yesterday!
They are perfect-they make my bum look great, they are a lovely colour, they are loose around the ankle (hate drainpipe jeans) and (very important): they are low-rise!

The most I've ever spent on jeans was €40. That was a real splashout for me, they are Topshop! I turn the ends up so they don't fray, that way I can wear them on nights out too, with heels. They make my bum look great.

Before these two pairs, I hadn't bought jeans in about 3 years, the last pair were about €20 and I wore them all the time, I love them. I've gone a bit mad lately.
