Media Player picture gone darkish

The picture when i play vids in windows media player has gone all darkish all of a sudden, does anyone know what could be the problem? I have ruled out a graphics card problem as games are running fine. Thanks in advance

Change the gamma setting of the the overlay in your gfx card advanced display properties.
