agreed, if you want to run them at decent settings with a bit of aa/af and still have good framerates then the 6800gt is the one to get

alright cool and the specs of my PC are fine? 2.8ghz and 1gb ram?

is the price for it on komplett good? 275€+p&p

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=312761&cks=SER

any other cheap good sites for cards that ship to ireland? Looked ar overlclockers.co.uk but cheapest is 290€

price is good, i'd stick with komplett, very reliable and good rma service (i hear, haven't had to send anything back myself) the cpu is a bit of a bottleneck (have one myself) but if it's a socket 478 then it's really not worth upgrading unless you do a complete overhaul of the whole system, ie. new mobo, pci-e etc

no, it'll be fine, i've the same specs with the vanilla 6800 128mb, and it both run nice at 1024 med-high settings, so the gt will be really nice, may still stutter a bit when theres a lot going on like huge explosions where theres lots of physics stuff going on and the like, but nothing really bad or anything

An X800XL plays half life 2 and battlefield 2 a bit nicer than a 6800gt from what I've seen. If the 6800 is cheaper than the x800 youd might as well stick with that though.

Pixmania is cheaper than komplett ;)
