Im in the market for a guitar effects pedal at the moment. Money doesnt matter, just tell me whats the best out there? I had a look myself and im thinking about the BOSS GT-8, but wanted to see what other people think before i take the plunge.

So, what do you think is the best one out there, and is the GT-8 any good?

I've been lookin at either a Gt6/8 or maybe one of these

    http://www.thomann.de/thoiw6_vox_tonelab_se_bodeneffekt_prodinfo.html

It gets good ratings on harmony central. Saw it in an old issue of Total Guitar where it also got a very good review

gt8 is ok. pod is pretty ok but i like the vox. has a nice sound to it. of course that g force system is the business

Im mainly looking for a metal sound. Currently going through full distortion on a marshall MG HDFX100 head and 4x12 cab, so i think that would be superior for the distortion side of things. I'll only need the pedal for effects and a good lead tone. The marshall foot switch is a bitch because it doesnt turn on or off the digital effects on the amp which is a pain in the ass live.

the distortion on the mg is crap even compared to distortion pedals...get a gt-8 and the metal zone on that will get u rockin..the footswitch i had with my hdfx had a button for the digi effects!!!!!!!!

So does mine, but for some reason it doesnt take off the reverb.

the reverb is controlled seperatly just turn the knob down to turn it off...the effects are not very pronounced though...the chorus would be the only practical one and even at that its only decent when distorted

screw multi effects the setup my band uses is they have a digitech metal master, a boss noise suppressor (so that you can crank up the distortion to FULL and have no feedback, so you can ashure CHRUSING tone) and a digiverb for reverb o and of course a wah... to be honest i dont think you need anything else for metal except for a good clean channel on your amp

I know you can turn it off on the knob, but its not too handy when you're playing live, ye know?

...and shut up! i spent 600 yo yo's on this thing, dont make me doubt its awsomeness!! :)

Awesomeness? An MG? Yeah... Anyway, you shouldn't be using that much reverb live that you'd have to turn it off.
