It's €491 from Ishibashi but then you have to add shipping to that.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭carpothepunk

So,i guess i got off ok.

Whats the situation with customs,do you think i will be got?And if so how much would i be charged?(i have never bought musical equipment from USA before)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

It'll be about 25% of the price marked on the package + shipping. You probably will be stung.

I tried a white Tokai Les Paul Custom in Musician Inc t'other day. I wasn't at all impressed. Maybe it was a lemon.

Beware Carpo, sometimes you get hit by customs a few weeks after the package arrives.

IMHO you can't go wrong with the Black Beauty. THE classic electric guitar.

Feylya. I love that Tokai. Just Love it.

Carpo. Can you let me know how the P90's sound. I have never heard them in the flesh.

Ive been buying too many ibanezs lately...I think I may get one of them tokais off Ishi...sei - what are the pickups like? How do they comapare to SD59s, or PAFs, or any of the popular Les Paul replacements?

That ain't a Black Beauty. Black Beauty's have three humbuckers ;)

Alas, the money I had reserved for that piece off wood and metal now has to go to help with "the Great Move".

    ...
Are you sure? That means I've been calling them the wrong name for the last 30 years or so. LOL. Which is entirely possible.
EDIT - Anyway, IMHO 3 humbuckers are OTT looking and probably get in the way of your pick.
Black LPs with white binding and speed knobs as per your picture are beyond cool.

voodoo the neck pickup is nice and transperant so the clean sounds are really crisp and defined. I found on my lp copy that it was muddy and muffled and got lost in a mix but these just sit there nicely. Really soft clean sounds and the treble cleans sounds dont cut your head off. You get that lovely rumble sound when soloing with the rhythm pickup, it souds great. The Bridge pickup has great bite out if it with distortion and cuts nicely through the mix, its very defined but still can hit you in teh chest with a punchy distortion. With my wah it gets pretty trebly like most guitars i suppose but dont take that as gospel coz i gotta reconfigure my wah with it to less extreme freq, that i need to get a good scope out of the inferior guitars i was using before

But then there's also a Custom Black Beauty with only two pickups but I think generally they have 3 humbuckers. And yes, they do look quite daft. Ebony Custom's are gorgeous though.
