You can't beat doyles - the place was rocking last night. Whelan's and Vodoo are usually good too if that's what you looking for.

Sounds like you'd like Ri Ra aswell, off Wicklow St.

Well we ended up in Sin E on the quays..Was really really good. Lots of jiggery pokerey on the makeshift dancefloor which was more like the candlelit living room of an elderly relative. Tip; over boisterous dancing may lead to head injuries due to low nature of ceiling.
The only compaint of the night was from some members from our group who felt the bouncers were takin their job too seriously in the evacuation process come closing time. I personally thought they did a good job, in that they cleared the plce in 10-15 mins flat. Usually a feat in this country.

    You seem a bit desperate.

You should grow a pair or get onto boards.ie/chat and talk to people and organsie going out. Also, this has been discussed on the Dublin City forum several times. Usually places like Doyles etc. come out ontops of places to go to.

Oh reeally??! well, for your information, I believe I asked for venues playing INDIE music and I went passed Doyles last night and all I could see were fat nerds sweating to the beats of the over processed/manufactured "songs" currently polluting the Irish music charts.
By the way this thread was posted in the recreationally titled "afterhours" forum. I believe I was entitled to ask for tips about my recreational activities in the afore mentioned "Rec" forum

Actually no .. you asking for places to go out and you stated that Indie music was your preference, you never said that it HAD to be indie music. You also said:

So. at one point you seemed to want to meet fat nerds.

If you are looking for venues that play one specific style of music, such as Indie then they didnt you have a look and maybe even ask on the Alternative/Indie music forum. I'm sure people there would be able to give you venues that cover the [ever growing and loosely named "indie" style].

Also shut up about music, we dont care about another persons rambellings about "over processed/manufactured 'songs' currently polluting the Irish music charts". Its the way thigns are, get used to it and live with it, as long as there is money to be made in music its going to be like this. As you said, you dont ever go out much so its the way things are.

Also, bounces clearing the place 20min after last orders? Thats sucks.

Calm down, why is eveyone so bloody serious in here, I wanted to go out last night as I mentioned I haven't been out in Dublin City in a while because im old and Im a top class chef, so im out of the loop a little with the youth of today.

Top class chef? What's your name.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,761 ✭✭✭✭Winters

I think its put perfectly with this

Also, nobody really cares too much if you are a "top class chef" or not. And it doesnt excuse you from not having gone out in seven years. And also, your not old tbh looking at your profile.

so i both eat and sweat too much - nice observation! guessing from the mood you were in it's probably for the best you didn't go to doyles.
