    BBC report

Jonah Lomu has joined the Cardiff Blues for seven months starting in mid-November in a bid to regain his All Blacks place before the next World Cup in 2007!!

This should be interesting, Lomu was due to make his comeback(From a kidney transplant!!) last year but injured his shoulder in the Martin Johnson testimonial.

Hopefully he can regain even some of the power and pace he showed in WC 95!

It's a pity he will not be here in time for the Leinster Vs Cardiff Blues game on the 15th of October. It would have been fun to see how Hickey or Kearney dealt with him :p

I can really see him getting back into the New Zealand world cup squad given the terrible lack of world class wingers they have down there at present. Why wouldn't they want the great Lomu with his past record of injuries etc. They'd be foolish not to want him!

    /me removes tongue from cheek

Nice for him to have somewhere willing to pay for him in the twilight of his playing career. He's been really over selling himself, but I guess that's to be expected given that his chances of making a serious NZ team in the future are diminished significantly. It'll be good to see him in action up here, but really this seems to be the norm for aging/injured Southern Hemisphere players to come to recover/retire.

I heard a really funny interview with Ben Gissing on the radio yesterday, when asked about Justin Harrison and if he was worried about him he said that Harrisson doesn't seem to be playing much at all "in the last match I saw him play in he just seemed to walk about for the eighty minutes". He was clearly convinced that Harrisson was merely here to play before retirement.

    *shrug*

I think hed give everyone at the club a huge lift. I can imagine the youngsters looking up to him, after seeing him in the rugby world cup when they were kids. And altough hes recovered from a serious kidney disease, hes not here to retire. Hes got a point to prove for the world cup. Jonah Lomu with a point to prove equals trouble for the opposition, even if his fitness is not up to what it was, hes a beast
