Okay I know we have www.publicjobs.ie but in my opinion and from experience, the civil service for most of us is a closed shop and there are a lot of idiots being employed there, where in normal life these people could'nt cross the road.

I have being on contract (outsourced contractor) to the Department of Foriegn Affairs, Department of Marine, Department of Defence and Department of Education.

Now I would like to enter the service as I have Professional IT Qualifications, Plenty of Work experience and have been in the armed forces.

But what baffles me,when I asked these goons how to I go about applying or getting in they clam up, to my dismay hmmmmmmmmm

Also the majority of jobs advertised above are for people in extremely professional roles or for crappy paying jobs in dublin were no-one can afford to live.

So what the feck am I missing here.

And any jobs going in dundalk:p

I might be in the same predicament soon myself. I want to enter the public service, I do know that qualifications and excellent academic results are highly valued, and do agree that a lot of people with grade As are not exactly the best people for the job. But that's the way things seem to work.
