    I think that web pages get payed by view as well as by click, couldnt be sure though.

    They couldnt tell if u had an adblocker installed afaik.

    Some are pay per click, other are pay per impression(i.e each time its viewed by an end user).

    Some of the ads on boards would be based on impressions, so if you have them blocked, they are not counted as an impression, therefore the ad company dont pay the website as much.

    Boards is prolly losing out a fair bit due to tech savvy users who have ad blocking enabled, either via HOSTS file editing our built in browser extentions like Firefox's Adblock.
