Bit of a late notice guys but I've had to cancel the seminar due to too many people pulling out and lack of numbers.. Not to mention some b/s politics going on down here in Waterford.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused, especially to Karl who came all the way to Ireland only to have the seminar cancelled. I tried my best to get numbers but it wasn't enough.

If anyone is around, we'll be doing a jiu-jitsu class instead of the seminar to make up for it. Sorry once again.

    John.

I'm gonna head down anyways and roll with John I'll be learning anyway and I want to see what he's learnt from the arm drag when mounted, seems like a likely scenario when things go wrong with my stand up!
I'm gonna bring some training gear so if time permits we might run some RBSD drills or stuff, more like a Boards Meet and Fight than before but still fun!

Apologies to John Kav. and Karl Tanswell, beyonf Johns' control I'm sure but a pain for ye lads. Rest assured if the seminar comes off in the future I'll be there anyway.Cheers for thinking of us in the South East anyways, hope to see ye here again soon!

Now where's I leave my head guard with face plate?

    John.

Dude I feel your pain, I know what it's like to get this Jiu-Jitsu thing going. Whoever would have turned up would have had a good time and gone home with a little more knowlege. I'm sure it's pretty dis-heartining to try to get things going just for it all to fall apart at the last moment.......

It's nothing worth discussing over the internet. What's done is done.

I had a good time anyway, sorry about the toe John!
Learnt some of the basics of guard and sweeps, arm bars for submissions.
I also got face planted into the mats cause I was supposed to roll and din't :D

Then we went on and sparred a little, me trying to take John down while he defended wearing big ass 10oz gloves. He showed me the "Twister" and my spine didn't like it much either.Had a chat about Thai style kicks and blocks, and did a little knife stuff at the end. Good day and a nice way to work out the beer I had last night.Pity more of the lads couldn't make it down for the seminar but I learnt more ground stuff so I'm a happy camper.

Don't worry about the toe, I can always grow another. Glad you had a good time. And yes, the twister is nasty on the spine ;)

    Why Mick!

Do you love being arm barred or you want me sitting on you?
I'll bring me toys if it comes off though, love to meet ye and spar some stuff out.
I'm getting more MMA by the day, in a Tae Kwon Do way if that makes sense?
I want to learn some Matt Hughes slammin' style so I guess I need to see you for that? Is that aright by you?

hard luck with the seminar, was looking forward to it! waterford isnt ready for a good seminar like that yet, people are only starting to get interested in mma...ill help you pass out flyers etc. next time. givvus a pm or a txt if theres anything on during the week i have a couple of friends interested in having a go

That is such f*cking bullsh1t John. I think up here we really don't realise how lucky we are to have such a pool of potential attendees for seminars, classes etc. MMA is hitting a huge new audience, I would have thought you'd have filled it no problem.

Next time out John, I'll try make it down for the day and bring a few lads. Wasn't possible this time out, I have exams in a couple of weeks.

You know, if advertising a seminar on a radio show, passing out flyers to ever doorman in the city and calling potential clubs to invite them along doesn't fill a seminar, then I don't know what can.

I'm only pissed because Karl came over for nothing. There's nothing I could really do about that.. If people won't come, they won't come. I tried my best.

When is this next dublin meet folks? I'll hopefully be there. Missed the last one.
