I don't know what age you are, but have 2 friends there who are in their 20's who reckon the nightlife is brilliant.

My mother is from that area, 60 miles further north actually, and it is beautiful. Well worth a visit.

There's a shinty/hurling match on in Inverness next weekend, which would be some laugh and the craic should be 90 !

im in my late 20's and so is the missus, really what we are looking for is, nice central hotel, bit of shopping and some nice local brew's in comfortable surroundings. And also not to have to pay massive rip off pricing for it !

Well, the internet should sort that side of things out.

Food and Drink in the UK is normally good value, but you have to factor in currency difference, so all in all the drink will work out about the same as here (outside Dublin prices), the food a good bit cheaper.

Accommodation should be in the £40 range pppn for an average 3 star type hotel/BB. Accommodation tends to be a little expensive to the Irish visitor, due to the sterliing.

I'd highly recommend a visit, though if you leave it too much later, the weather might turn nasty up there.

Check out http://www.visitscotland.com/ for info on a few deals.
