Two places to recommend in Cork.
For idylic and out of the way-go to incheydoney island house hotel.
    Just beautifull.
I could rave on for hours about it-just go there!

In Cork city, the best hotel I've stayed in down there is Hayfield manor, just at the back of UCC.
It's very very deluxe and the restaurant is absolutely Fab!

The rooms in both of those are huge.

The leisure and Spa facilities in Inchydoney are uber relaxing and the beach is bliss even in winter.Theres a huge log fire in a big old style library packed with books and old furniture including a big long oak table.
Bliss (save Kerry for the day trips :p)

The Silver Springs in Cork is lovely, its about 3 mins drive from the city centre on the Dublin side. Twas perfect for me (newish driver) coz i didnt have to drive through the one way system thay have going on! highly recommend the hotel though, we were home 3 weeks and it was on the news coz the Euro millions winner was hiding out there!
