Poker Question

Playing texas hold em and 4 diamonds got turned up. 2 players went to river and called. Both had the blue one with Ace of Diamonds (with a 6 spades)and the other with a 7 Diamonds (with queen of hearts)
So who wins.
Does it go to the highest card? Is it the flush and the highest card? in this case the Queen of hearts or is it just the highest card. In this case part of the flush being the Ace of Diamonds?

Your hand is taken from the best possible 5 card hand from the seven available (two in your hand and five on the board)
So in this case the winning hand is an Ace high flush.
Player 1 has the four diamonds on the board and the Ace in his hand while player two plays the four on the board with his 7.
