Did anyone else watch? Anyone have a view on the ministers performance? He seemed too hesitant on a lot of issues to me. Although he seemed forced to deny the rumour that Spencer Dock wouldn't happen. I hadn't heard that rumour! Was it invented so the minister would have to deny it?

    It's on the web now

Cullen says 10 year plan at cabinet within 6 weeks. Is this not the Budget? They have got a whole year out of this plan, first indicated at budget time 2004.

Bertie Ahern says (in todays Irish Times) that the plan's start date would be at the expiry of the current plan (2007?).

Seems like normal Budgetry signage, hardline in the run-up, so that when the minimum is included it seems like Sean Citizen has won a great concession.

My point was that if we had another western government in power they would just roll out the infastructure. Fair enough they might have other problems with their country but most countries can do infastructure. We seem to struggle.

Its not an engineering problem, its the fact that the government doesnt have the resolve to press ahead with the projects. Maybe they should think about setting up a seperate agency that will take control of all matters regarding Dublin infastructure.

As pointed out in last nights program, this involves central government handing over power to someone else. Governments don't like giving up power.
