George A Romero horror, concluding the Living Dead trilogy. A small team of scientists and civilians battle against a group of zombies and are forced to take refuge in a bunker.

Personally, it's my favourite of the Dead movies. Some absolutely stellar gore aswell (decapitation by shovel, anyone?).

Film is a bit slow for my liking, still very good, but the balance between action and talking seemed to be a bit off.....fantastic gore though, when
The very end where all soldiers are ripped to bits, especially the captain

Zombies look brilliant in this one as well, huge advancement from Dawn, rivalling the new zombie movies in terms of make up effects. The first shot for the titles is awesome

My favourite of the three. Fantastic gore, zombies & what an opening!

Looks like it's not on after all... Whoever dropped the ball on this deserves to have their guts eaten.

gore wise i think its defo the best. Some cracking special effects. But i think its the weakest of the three(havent seen land yet) when it comes to the story. I just felt Romero created no tension bar the odd jump unlike in night and dawn where your always on the edge of your seat. Its also pretty slow moving and the characters are horribly stereotypical(jesus, mary and joseph says he as he takes a swig of whiskey) :D . But I suppose romero had to do something different or he would have been criticised for just changing the setting to a silo.

I was checking the listing on SKY for this last night and was surprised that it wasn't there as it was in any tv listings mag I checked. Was annoyed as I wanted to sky+ it.

Before I turned off the tv I thought to check the video, it is still hooked up to NTL basic cable channels and lo and behold the version of BBC on NTL was showing Day of the Dead

Did a little happy dance and started recording

Quaility wont be as good as sky+ (no where even close) but at least I will get to show it to the girlfriend as she has never seen Day and it is my favourite

Funny thing is though, I am sure Dawn was on BBC NI on Sky the night before

yeah it's wierd. BBC2 on digitial box (ntl digital) didn't show day of the dead but bbc2 on the normal ntl channels did. Always thought they're the same channel.

I think this might be my favourite of the three. I love the special effects in it, although the characterisation does leave something to be desired. I have all three knocking around somewhere on VHS (remember that, kids?) but, lo, I have no video player. So I was pleasantly surprised when I wandered home last night a bit tipsy in time to catch the end of it. Choke on it, indeed! :D

Great film indeed. Not as good as Dawn but better than Night. Incidentally, I saw Land Of The Dead a few days back and I thought it was great. It's getting some bad reviews but I thought it was on par with Day Of The Dead.

Yep the Dead movies are rotated on Sci-Fi about every 4 weeks. Or it feels like it.
