My friend is talking about going to study in Plymouth for a year, anyone know what student life is like in the city. Also, is it a safe town and what are the employment opps in marketing/PR?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Plymouth is the regional capital of Devon and Cornwall ('ello my luvver!)

AFAIK it's a perfectly nice place. Try the following linkies for more info:

Plymouth Uni: http://www.plymouth.ac.uk/ (assuming that's where you're going)
    Touristy Linky: http://www.visitplymouth.co.uk/

    For jobsearch stuff: http://www.jobsinplymouth.co.uk

Also, go Googling for Plymouth generally. Google is often your friend for things like this...

Plymouth certainly looks nice enough, it's a very attractive city (down by the Hoe and whatnot).

Hear the uni ain't bad either, know a lot of students there so must be pretty studenty... as for jobs etc, not sure.. :)
