I'm just kinda curious to see what was the first full song that people learn to play. As far as I can remember mine is Elvis - Blue Suede shoes.

    House of the rising sun..

Man I hate that song now..

Took me about six weeks to learn it from the guitar teacher.
Out of all the songs with only three chords out there he picks that one to show me.

Good song to learn for a beginner though. :D

First solo was The Struggle Within
First entire song (every single part of it) was I Disappear.

    Yes, I am a Metallica fan :D

    Show off ;)

First, can't honestly remember, possible Let There Be Rock by AC/DC (twas on bass).

Most recent? Can't recall learning a whole song in a long time... possibly Sober by Tool when I jammed with dabhoys.

The only thing I play all the way through these days is the Prove You Wrong album by Prong, a fantastic bass workout :)

Last solo I learnt was probably Little Sister by QOTSA :p

First song I learned was 'Venus' by... ummmm... Bananarama? :) A strange one, I know, but my brother decided to teach me the rhythm aspect of it. I think straight after that was 'Everybody Hurts' by R.E.M.

Last song, I wouldn't have a clue! Although I do keep playing the guitar line from Destiny's Child's "Bills Bills Bills" during lulls in practice just to drive the band mad ;)

Hmmm, doesn't really speak much for my musical choices I suppose. The first (and probably only) solo I learned was the MASSIVE 4 bar solo in Gomez's 'Get Myself Arrested'. Around the same time, I learned the bass solo(!) from Violent Femmes' 'Walking On The Water'.

Man, I haven't heard *any* of those songs in such a long time.

First bass line I learned was Milquetoast by helmet
First full song was *probably* 2000 light years away by Green Day.

    Over 10 years ago

First Solo:Thing Called Love - The Darkness ('twas all the rage back then)
Last Solo: Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd (Hell yeah! oww my poor poor fingers)
First Song: Wild Thing - The Troggs
Last Song: Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Still can't sing and play at the same time though ('cept for two songs -Rory Gallagher - Shadow Play, Wid Thing). Any tips for this? Apparently I have a good voice, so I want to make use of it and not have to ditch my guitar when I do.

First bass part, guitar part, and vocals - Uriah Heep's 'Easy Livin'....I had a cheap stereo with 2 cassette units in it, and I found out I could do a poor-man's doubletracking (got pretty sad by the 5th rep or so).

First riff - Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy by Return to Forever

Last solo - my own, basically.....took the 2-bar solo in Blue Oyster Cult's 'Godzilla' and expanded it into a 9-hour affair wherein I hit every note on the bass (twice) and throw horseshoes at the neck while my bandmates go off and get manicures.
