Right, I've posted on here a few times looking for advice but now I have a sort of plan. Originally was thinking of packing up and going for a few months but the way things have worked out (new job, have to start sooner than expected) I've got about 2 weeks at the start of November to go/do something worthwhile.

Bit vague I know, bnut anyone got any suggestions?

If you want an adventure, go to India. Weather would be perfect in November.

With two weeks you could easily check out the 'Golden Triangle' of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Take in some incredible Mughal architecture (Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Pink City etc) and eat some of the finest curries available to humanity.

It wouldn't be a walk in the park though. Not everyone's idea of a 'holiday'.

I too am heading off 'solo' for a trip in October.

Currently considering an escorted tour of Italy (Rome and Venice).

Anybody here ever do an escorted tour ?
Would I be the only single (youngish ;) ) person on it ?

Same here, i'm thinking of taking a couple of weeks off late Oct./ early Nov. probably heading to Morocco or Tunisia by myself - quite fancy seeing the Sahara.

I went to Morocco on my own with one of those escorted tours last December and it was fantastic. Its a bit pricey but you get so much done in such a short space of time - much more than if you were travelling independently. I went with www.exploreworldwide.com (I did the Royal Cities and Deserts trek) and I'd really recommend them.

There was a real mix of ages and personalities on the trek and when you get fed up with the group you can go and do your own thing for a while. One thing I would recommend you do if you go for this option is to pay the extra supplement so you don't have to share a room with another person in the group. I had to share with a girl who wrecked my head a bit - it wasn't a big deal really but if I was doing it again I'd pay the extra - it wasn't much as far as I remember.

    Id go to Thailand.
You would se a lot in 2 weeks and its also the busy season over there soon enough so there will be lots of people on holidays there and the weather will be good.

You will save a fortune compared to other destinations and its a great country.
