My boyfriend and I are looking for a small site-around 1/2 an acre-to eventually build on. Ideally this would be within commuting distance of Dublin-eg Kildare, Meath. I have been looking at all the usual websites, agents etc, but Im just wondering if anyone has bought a site recently or has any advice of where else to look? I know that we would have a better chance of getting a site if we moved to a different part of the country but we dont want to move away from our friends, family etc
    Please help!

I doubt you would get planning permission on a naked site if you are not from the area.

You'd be better off looking for a small ruins and apply for a extension on it. Obvioulsy this will be reflected in the price of the runis/site.

nothing really to be saved buying a site tbh, not in dublin anyway, people pay over the odds to secure them because they want to put their stamp on it. banks are reluctant to lend on the basis of hope land. consider buying a house, the sooner the better imho, good luck.
