I am heading off for a year, travelling SE Asia, Oz, NZ etc etc and need to buy a digital camera. Should I wait and buy it in Bangkok (my first destination) or just go ahead and buy one here??

    All comments suggestions welcome!!!! :

You could definitely get one cheaper in Bangkok all right, but if you're heading to Singapore or (even better) Hong Kong, those would be the places to buy the latest electronics at knockdown prices.

Agree with the last poster - don't buy it in Thailand, i bought a camera in Bangkok, it was more or less the same price as back home. Singapore is the place

I bought a camera in Bangkok last month and it was much cheaper than back home (€250 for the camera in Bangkok and €440 back home), i guess if you are willing to bargain with the sellers you will get a good deal. Some friends of mine also bought one there and got a good deal also. But if Singapore is supposed to be cheaper maybe you should wait.
