    From Digital Spy
RTE will begin widescreen broadcasts of RTE1 and RTE2 on NTL's digital TV service in Ireland.

"As the public service broadcaster, RTE is committed to delivering innovation in broadcasting and programming to its viewers and will continue to work with companies such as NTL to extend new advancements and technologies to a wider audience," said Dermot Horan, RTE's director of broadcast and acquisitions.

Widescreen broadcasts on NTL will begin in the Autumn and will include coverage of rugby and football fixtures.

Not here they aren't. On MMDS. It's still using 14:9 or whatever the compromise ratio is.

getting fed up with rte matches as the score or time is never on the screen properly or maybe its skys fault?

No, its RTÉ's. During sport they dont have the score-dog in the 4:3 safe area.

Yes, it's RTÉ's fault, they seem to have graphics in the 14:9 safe possition, for analogue. RTÉ have the attitude if you don't watch it in 4:3L on a 4:3 TV then you're doing it wrong.
