I have a very simple question. Does DCU have it's own radio station? If so is it any good?

It does. I've never listened to it. It only goes on the air for a week in March (6th-10th).

hmm only for a week? Strange, I'm sure that has something to do with whatever licence they can get!
    Cheers for the info though.

It goes a bit further than one week I think. They had a full weeks broadcasting starting in March last year, then DCUFM was on every Wednesday until the semester's end.

I was interviewed on it. When I wanted to say Easons and Reads, I said Reasons and Eads. Ah memories...

If it's anything like the ****e they were blasting out during orientation week I'd steer well clear.

It's actually pretty neat. A mate & myself did a show on it for a while and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Great experience and easy to get involved. It's run in conjuction with http://www.mediaproductionsociety.tk/

Yes DCU FM is a proper radio station. Due to licening we can only get 2 weeks in the year of proper airtime: 1 week in semester 1 and 1 week in semester 2 on 97.3fm.
Great line up this year, workshops weekly, screenings, creating shows, guest speakers from industry, hopefully trip and tour around rte studio's etc.
Join Media production society if you've any interest in radio/tv and wanna get involved in media. You will get airtime, producing experience and so on.
It won best society last year, the year before and will be this year also!!!
