Cancelling/changing Ryanair flights.... help please!! :)

    I've booked a return Ryanair flight to Paris in November but I want to either change or cancel it.

    Has anyone ever done this with Ryanair before? Being Ryanair, I'm wary of getting fleeced in some way, shape or form!

    How do I go about cancelling or changing the flight? What extra costs will be involved?

    Any help greatly appreciated! :)

    Have a look at the website they will give you details on changing flights, they usually charge a fee per passanger (about e25) plus the difference between the fares if the fare has increased, they do not take away the fare difference if the fare has decreased

    You will get nothing back by canceling it.

    go to the ryanair site - click on the "change/confirm" button on the top right and follow the instructions.

    From memory I think it is €25 per person per sector plus any difference in cost of the flights. Say you paid 19.99 each way (before taxes) for two people and you want to change to another date where the prices (at the time of booking) were 29.99 each way, then you would have to pay:

    4 x €25.00 (charge)
    2 x €10.00 (fare difference outward)
    2 x €10.00 (fare difference inward)
    Total = €140.00

    Note: if the prices are less on the new flight you will not get a deduction.

    Investigate if buying a new ticket is cheapre first. You are entitled to claim back taxes and charges, subject to an admin fee on the original flights if you do not use them, so it might work out cheaper that way.

    Cheers!

    Yeah I did check out their own instructions on the site, but as I said I'm wary of being fleeced or scammed (it is Ryanair after all) so I'm looking for people who have actually done it and the real implications that came with it!

    Ryanair don't scam you. They may charge loads of fees but they detail it quite clearly before you press the "yes I want to pay you" button. That's why they are so successful - they don't have hidden charges - just expensive visible ones.

    And being charged a fee for changing is reasonable - an ideal method of preventing unsrupulous touts block booking all the cheapo fares and reselling them later.

    The admin fee they charge is the same as the taxes/charges so no point in claiming them back!!
