Keyboard port stopped working! Help!

My keyboard stopped working yesterday, and it's a really weird problem...
It works fine when you power up the PC, but very soon after it stops responding. If you turn off the PC and turn it back on it works again, but only for a short time.

I've tried just using it in the BIOS, not booting windows or anything, and even there it stops working after a while!

The rest of the system is fine, it's just the PS/2 port that stops working.

I've tried it in the other PS/2 port (for the mouse) but it must be different as the keyboard doesn't work at all there.

I brought it into work with me today and it's absolutely fine, no problems at all. I'm typing this on it and it's been fine for over an hour now.

The motherboard is ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe, and it's been working fine up until yesterday. I checked the warranty (bought it in Komplett) and it's just expired a little while ago, bought it in july last year.. bummer!

Is there anything I could try to bring the PS/2 port back to life?
From my limited knowledge of electronics, the fact that it works but stops working quite soon after booting suggests a capacitor problem.

Also, are there any PS/2 to USB converters?
I love the keyboard (it's an IBM server keyboard) and really want to use it.
And well, buying another top-range motherboard is an awful expense.

    Thanks for your help!

Actually, looks like it's the keyboard, just took a lot longer to show the symptoms here in work.

After about an hour and a half it stopped responding, then the computer started beeping and mad stuff started happening, windows being opened randomly etc (like it was sending all sorts of signals through).

I plugged it out and plugged in the old manky Dell keyboard and everything's fine again. Christ..

well at least a keyboard is cheaper to replace than fixing a PS/2 port! :-)

Heh, true.. When it didn't lock up after a few minutes I thought I'd have to replace the motherboard...

And well, even better news is that the keyboard is still under warranty, where the motherboard is not. We'll see what Elara will say now :)
