Magic Mushrooms Legal?

Howdy, Just wondering what the Legal status of 'shrooms are. I've gotten mixed reports and as far as a knew they were legal but I've heard they may be made illegal next year after Britain upgraded them from being legal to being a class A drug this year. If they are legal, how would one go about aquiring them?

Well If they're 100% legal whats the harm in finding out how to acquire them?

They're not 100% legal though, it's a loop hole so it's shady.

They are terrible anyway , not even worth buying and that shop is charging €30 a bag which is very dear IMO .

They fall into a legal greyspot Mr. rolleyes, therefore with any ambiguity they cannot be classified as 100% legal. They aren't classified 100% under the law, and probably will be soon, making them illegal.

They're great craic with the right bunch of mates.. you have to have a good head about you but if you're completely mentally stable and have some good mates who know what they're doing they can be good fun.

They're typically €1 a gramme... I did 25 one night and that was far more than you need to really trip, 15 would do ya so I don't know where you're getting €30

The law says they're illegal when dried but specifically says when they're dried which means that when they're not dried they're not illegal...

Doesn't say they're legal, it just means they're "not illegal" basically which is why you can waltz into... certain shops and buy them...

was funny when i used to live in kilcoole we had busloads of tourists out to check out the greenery in the mushie season.

correct me if im wrong but werent you taking irish mushrooms? if so then you need a **** load to trip. the ones you can get in the shop are far more potent, 20g and you are lost.

great fun imo, just a little bit of control, thats all, no need for them to be illegal!

yep i meant the irish ones thats a nice bit of info for me fade cause i would have taken a hundred of the foreign ones.... and ended up thinking i was an arabic donkey or something...

Avoid buying the Columbian and Mexican mushrooms as in my expirience they are quite weak.....the McKennis on the other hand are much better.

mmm, yes the mckennis are great, but i preffered a mix of mckennis and equadorian. what an amazing 6 hours!

As stated in the linked thread I received an email confirming that unprepared mushrooms are legal.

You can buy them as far as I know if a few shops in Dublin and in one shop in Galway.

Because it's a loop-hole :rolleyes: They are technically legal, but only because of an oversight when the law was being drafted.

Why are people getting banned for saying where to buy them? They're legal, and relatively safe, so I don't see what the problem is. There'd be no problem telling people where to buy beer or cigarettes... so why do people take this attitude with other drugs (*gasp*)? There's a bit too much hypocrisy around today. They could grow out your back garden, for god's sake! God must have made some serious miscalculations when he was creating the Earth, eh...

So yeah, they're illegal when they're dried out, but legal when they're fresh.

put it this way, i would gladly give up a month on the piss just for one experience on mushrooms. there is no harm in it. they are not addictive, and once you take them in moderation they are harmless. and so much fun!


and besides, the shops wont sell them to people under 18, and i know cos a friends younger brother asked me to get some for him as he was refused. i politely declined, as much as i enjoy the use of drugs, i do think that people under 18 should dabble.

and besides, you cant blame us for discussing it, its not our fault the law is the way it is. and anyway, every bloody teenager knows when and where to pick irish shrooms, whats the difference?

Which political party would be the most "liberal" with regards legality of drugs and the likes? I think there was an article in a paper I got in college from the 'Young PDs', saying that the PD's are pro-marijuana legalisation... is this true?

Mushrooms rule (allegedly as is the rest) ..think of a six hour orgasim..yep thats how it feels.

Problem is for the "will someone think of the children" type posters..its something that gives a great (allegedly) experience ..however cannot lead to addictive behaviour for the simple reason that it needs to be taken about once every few months for effect..hardly like a smoke which is every few minutes for effect.

The shrooms are magical for a few times a year and utterly totally harmless..(allegedly) .

What a great admin. :rolleyes: They are perfectly legal hence they are being openly sold in certain shops. If you didn't want people asking you should have started so instead of handing out a completely unnecessary ban. Will you be banning the people that openly admit to taking them next? The least you could have done was edited my post and sent me a pm to say why. I have agreed to the forum rules, none of which state that I am not allowed to ask for the location of a vendor for a legal substance. Remove my ban and use your admin rights properly.

Untreated, they're legal. If they're threated, dried, etc, they be illegal.

Closing this due to muppetry. Feel free to ask an admin (I am not an admin) about how the feel on the discussion of aquiring shrooms if you have any queries. Somehow seamus posting a warning and me banning someone because they discussed aquiring shrooms doesn't mean anything when you post something akin to "lol where do i gets the drugz"

Do some homework on the laws concerning magic mushrooms for good measure. Don't just use fake legalise picked up by fellow users.
