Designing my First tattoo

Hello all, I've decided to get 3 Tattoo's. All 3 will be connected in their theam. The first ones to be done are on the inner forearm and my left and right side. They are a mirror image of each other. The 3rd and final one is going to be on my back.

The design is as follows. The two on my inner forearms are Tallens of a bird. Done like this rough draft I made here

Then the Third, which I am still to design is a large bird accorss my upper back/Shoulder blades(of the same style). With a tale coming down the spine. (although this may change when I find out how sore it will be with the first tattoo)

What I am looking for is info on a place/person that would be good on doing this kind of Tattoo? Any thoughts on the price of the forearm ones? If you look closely you can see the outline of my arm in the pic, around the design. To give an idea of size. So any thoughts/Comments would be welcome.

I'd say give the lads in Art Tattoo in Temple Bar a shout for something like that, they do a lot of blackwork. It is on Fownes Street on the first floor.

I got a solid black eagle that I had designed myself done on my left shoulder by Sean in Zulu and I'm really happy with it... going back to get some more stuff done at the end of the week.

Hmm.. Your not the first one to say Zulu, I've been trying to ring them. But its just ringing out.

Well I got it done today in Zulu, Set me back €180 but I am really happy with it. As you can see. I went in with a second rough draft. Then Sean who was doing the tattoo, done is own take on it. His take being the one I went for. The man is an Artest!

Do you not think you should have gone for something a bit more origninal? I've seen soo many generics who define themselves by the tattoos they wear with tattoos just like that.

What'll you do when you're 60 and you want off of that yoke?

Sorry but what would make you think I am a "generic" as you put it?

As for what I'd do when I am 60... Who said I will live that long? I didn't get it for how people will view me. I got it as a tattoo was something I always wanted to get done for my-self. Also, the fact that I designed it and not based it on anything I have seen. Means that it is not the same as what other people have. (as far as I know anyways)

Eather way, I am dead happy with it and how well Sean done it.

as long as you're happy with it it's all that matters.

why are you on a tattoo/piercing forum if youre so averse to body mod?
do you not think that he would have thought about those minor details before he shelled out €180 quid, do 2 rough drafts, consult people who know about it, consult tattoists and make several attempts to contact the tattoo studio?
christ, i suggest that you read the charter before someone who can ban you has to say it.
    Rule 2.
No slagging off peoples tattoos/piercings.Tats and piercings are a matter of peoples personal preferences---so what if you dont like it
the person who paid good money for it does(and it probably has a certain meaning for them)---and thats all that matters. So any more "thats a knacker tattoo" etc and you will be banned.
    p.s
OP nice tattoo, hope your pleased with it and good luck with the rest of the project.

Whatever, I just think tattoos are ridiculous!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,109 ✭✭✭sutty

If you think that then why come in here? Its not like I go onto the Christianity board saying that there is no god and that religion is for suckers... (Me being Atheist in all)

The only reason you came on here was to start a flame. Not declare you point of view. Please stop posting in my Thread if you dont have anything valid to add to it.

Looks excellent man, and actually not too similar to the standard tribla ones. There's a different edge to it. Quite like the way you're doing about this project. Good luck with the rest of it.

I'd have to recommend Sean in Zulo aswell. I had a design in my head, i drew it out the best i could (im not exactly an artist), i show'd it to Sean and he redrew it exactly how i wanted it except looking ten times better!
    here it is:

Yeah I went to Celestial Ring and the guy was lovely, he explained the whole "system" to me and stuff so when I have a few tatts they should do it for me somehwere!

Atm I'm getting a little flower thingy on my upper right arm that I designed myself, I'll post a pic when I get it, or maybe I'll try do one in Paint now...

well this is my first post here and i was looking for the show me yours, show you mine thread but was unable to find it so apologies. the below was my first tattoo, got it a few months ago and sorry for the nasty looking pic but it was just freshley done, was designed by a friend of mine and i think it looks great, means something to me which i think is the most defining factor in getting a tattoo, i think its showing thats theres someone inside all of us trying to get out but is too scared too. kinda how i feel bout myself.

i shall be getting another soon, looking at a shoulder covering one with just a vine design to show all the complecated things iv faced and that nothing is just easy but i have yet to find the design i want,i may just go back to stigmata tau in swords where i got my last done and asked the guys there.

let me no what you think of this one anyway.
    thanks,
    splinter
