Anyone else notice Dell hiked up their laptop prices over the last week - 2 weeks? I was gonna buy a 6000 and now its gone up by 150 euro and they also dropped the dvdrw, whats goin on? are prices gonna be dropped soon again or are the new ones here to stay?

    I noticed too :(
*shrug* I'd say they'll drop the prices again within a few weeks so that they can claim "huge savings" are offered, just in time from Christmas.

    what kinda price range?
sony center has 2/3 model going from 999-1599.
Pc world do them from 599 - 2299. Some nice compaq ones, good value. Think they have different stuff to the website.

The price on the base I 6000 has incresed but the offer on the upgraded one is even better now.

Go to Dell recommends and modify the 2nd offer on the 6000.
    I got a 6000 with Pentium M 740 (1.73 GHZ), 1 GIG of RAM, 60 GIG HD, 64 MB X300 and DVD writer for 1056€ on Sunday.

Best deal I've seen during my time stalking Dell.ie!

That's a good deal alright - I got similar with 512Mb a few weeks ago for €849 though, by virtue of a printing error on an advert in PC Live! (Should have been +VAT, + Del instead of including both). But with the cost of 512Mb ram, they are pretty comparable prices.

reason why their stuff has gone up is because Dell share price took a bit of a tumble a month ago...reason:selling pc's too cheap...obviously HQ and got onto Dell IRL and told them to do something about it...
