Should Boards.ie show post count?

This follows on from another thread about whether post number and join date actually matter. Very interesting thread, and for me it raises some interesting questions.

BBC "606 your say" football forums (the Celtic forum is at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbfansforum/F2154396) have recently taken post count and join date away for some of the reasons mentioned in the other thread.

So, do you think boards.ie should display post number? To be honest, I dont know how to vote on this one, but I'm going with "no" for now...

Wouldn't bother me either way. Boards used to show the average daily post count under the total. It was a good way to watch spamming newbies.

I don't really know either. In a way it's great, ESPECIALLY in the For Sale forum, so you know whether someone can be trusted or not, there does tend to be alot of selling of equipment by people with <100 postcounts. Not that that makes them untrustworthy, but it stands to pose a potential problem.

Other then that, not really bothered either way. There is also the option of maybe substituting the post count with a written description for each level, rather then an actual count.

but again, not bothered. Not going to vote because I'm honestly not overly for either option.

I'd rather have it there, and the daily post count was good too. I see no reason why boards.ie should think about taking it away. Boards.ie has always had "social levels", and rightly so.

I say keep them too. Who cares about your post count, its what your warped brain posts up that counts

I sometimes use post counts as a judge on a number of issues. Do I ban someone who has advertised on the site? With 1 post, I'm pretty sure that's all they joined up to do.
