What are IE up to at Fairview?

    Lot of track recently laid around Fairview depot, are these just sidings for storing trains etc., or will this have any impact on service?

    They are extra sidings for storing new DART units. The fleet is going from the (surviving) original 78 to 156.

    Actually 76 originals are left. An 8 coach train is 164m long which requires longer sidings, its not the total lenght of sidings its the number which can take a full 8 coach set

    The sidings will be connected in December and there is a small chance of a closure to do that and before everyone starts giving out it was clearly shown in the project details that the sidings would be connected then
