Ripping 3 minute sequence from DVD

There's a scene on a DVD I have that I'd like to convert to an MPEG file so I can show it to a friend. It's only about three minutes so I don't need the whole film. Does anyone know how this can be done?

Apologies if this has been asked before, search is down and I can't find it on the last few pages.

use DVDshrink you can set it up so it rips a certain part, you tell it what frame to start and end at. I havent got it on this PC so its hard to tell you exactly how to do it
