Just so people know, this entire show is being broadcast of 2FM Next Sunday @ 8pm.

In my own Opinion this was the most amazing live show Ive ever seen/heard, Its kinda hard to explain why it was so good, but most people who were there seem to know what I mean......Too hard to explain in words.

From 2fm: "They liked this RTÉ 2fm recording from the Electric Picnic so much that they are using one of the songs on their next single."

    Sean.

I did`nt like them to be honest. Everyone was pushing and shoving. I eventually left, everyone else seemed to enjoy them though.

Ye, its 11, normally 2fm live is on @ 8pm, anyway Ill be recording it off the radio with a minidisc and then 320kbps, if you have problems Mr Rivers Ill host it.

320kbps is needlessly high given that FM radio isnt very good quality itself.

Lads dont be fightin over whos going to put up the link :D
Just as long as its up, then happy days...

Minidisc is lossy so 320 will prevent some additional signal loss but its not the best way to go about it. All digital tv carrys 2fm as far as I know so what youd want preferably is record direct from a digital radio feed using a tv card to 44khz wav and compress using flac for the perfectionists and 192 vbr alt standard preset mp3 for the rest of us. I dont have this kind of equipment but Im sure someone does. Even an analogue cable from a tv tuned to a digital feed straight into the line in on your sound card wouldnt be noticebly bad.

I meant to record this, but I've forgotten and it's too late now.

Best way I can do is to record from the phono out at the back of my Sky Digibox to the line-in of my PC soundcard.

I dont think they played the entire set, it was only 35 min long..... just giving a listen now.......

Does anyone have a recording not sourced from the *spit* stream?

any chance of this being put up? anyone?!
ah go on, it'll be your good deed for the day

    Here you go:

    Megaupload - 55MB

Just a few things, the sound is quite on the first track, but on the second sorts itself out. also the bloody 2FM broadcast had a 10 second blank bit in the middle, apart from those things, let me know what you think?

Anyone have a bootleg of Wake Up? That was amazing at EP.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,008 ✭✭✭rabbitinlights

There is a guy on arcadefire.net who has the full set recorded @ very good quality. He's should be putting it up on Bittorrent's soon, Ill try and get permission to post it here.

Wake up was an amazing song to open on, The Sheer Volume of the crowd singing the opening part was just amazing. It totally took me by surprise and sent shivers down my spine. It certainly get's the crowd attention.

They were booked for that gig before Xmas 2004 Ive heard, Its very rare that a band is booked pre-hype in Ireland and that they happen to play the actual gig in the middle of the super hype that is now surrounding them....... and what is even more mad, is that the delivered.

PS. Who ever did book them, I would like to buy you a few crates of beer.
