My monitor at random points during use turns itself off (or maybe just stops receiving a signal from the computer, i dont know which) and then turns back on again. its a compaq crt monitor and i dont have a separate video card, just whats on the motherboard.

can any of you help me out?

My monitor some times does that (also compaq crt(7500)), the odd time when the computer starts up and goes to desktop, it goes black for a sec and then comes back on, i have a graphics card btw. I dont know why it does it

i think it may be a problem with the computer's power supply on further inspection, as the monitor is in fact turning off due to a lack of power, not cos theres no signal. god i hate my computer so much

You could check in the BIOS Screen and see what setting is listed for your monitor.
