Ok the story is this, i have surround sound with logitech x-530(i think) speakers and a soundblaster sound card and it works perfectly on dvds i play but when i play doom 3 with surround on it works for a while perfectly then all sound cuts out then if you press esc it works again for a short while only to start again.Anyone know what the story is with this as i dont have a clue whats wrong.

Also as im on the subject i have this software on my pc called nvidia mixer(it was on the comp when i got it) and it appears to do absolutely nothing cause when i tweak the sound levels they dont do anything to the sound, any dieas on how to get this working?

i have a nvidia motherboard and that mixer software wont install because it says it needs to have nvidia motherboard, something on the lines of it anyways.

Id say the problems may be with drivers in relation to your issue Patricide, did you try nvidia.com for new drivers or check the current version of the drivers and roll back to an eariler version..it may help something.
