My Sky digital has gone back to its factory settings. Now this has happened before and I asked him how to fix it if it happened again but I have forgotten how to do it & I don’t want to call in sky. Does anyone know how to fix it?

The same happened to me, I had a U.K. sky card, they sent out to me by mistake and I had itv 1, channel 4, 5 etc...

I woke up Friday morning and they were gone and the Irish channels were tuned in, can anyone help me retune the U.K. ones back, Thanks!

nobody can help you retune a Sky card. you have an Irish subscription card now so no ITV, C4 or five (ITV will be soon). nothing can be done except get a FTV card or take out a UK subscription. for more info do a search as there are plenty of threads that deal with the subject

It was something to do with a power surge & the box goes back to its F.settings. So the Sky guy came and done something with the remote and it was working again within a few secs of him doing something with the remote.

Think it might have been something like '030' and he worked his way backwards tryed this but stoped after '025'.

I can't understand your problem. Can you be a bit more precise as to your problem?

What has changed ? Are channels missing? Is it the picture and sound settingsthat have changed?

Tell us exactly what the problem is.

I cant view anything on it, Its just like it has been turned off. My sky in on #7 on my TV and when I turn it on #8 goes all fuzzy and you cant f all of the picture.

Have you tried connecting it to the TV using a scart lead? If you can see the Sky channels using a scart, it may be that the RF output channel has (as you say) reverted to the factory setting. In which case you can either retune your TV to pick up the signal, or if it was changed to avoid interference with another channel, you can go into the installer's menu to change it back to what it was.

Of course the problem with changing things in the installer's menu is that you have to be able to see the output from the digibox in the first place, so one way or another you're going to have to connect with a scart. Then, if you want to revert back to watching through a tuned channel on the TV, you can change the RF Channel Number while viewing through the scart connection.

The Installer's menu is accessible through this series of commands -

Press Services then 4 for system setup, then 0,1 and then press select.

I would advise against messing around too much in there as there are options that might mess up your digibox, so be careful.

Does any of this make sense ?
