I am just back from the gig, it was god-damn brilliant! I caught Travis Smiths' drum stick! I am so happy now! they were second-to-none, seriously. Matthew Heafy can really get the crowd going! the sound wasn't to bad either, it has been worse.

well I for one shall deffo be going to them in March

That was a good gig! I only knew maybe one or two Trivium songs but they really impressed me, I picked up the album this morning. It sounded like a lot of old school thrash with different vocals. The crowd were really into it which made for a great athmosphere.

What did you think of All That Remains? They suffered a bit from "support band sound" but I thought they really rocked the place. Phil's an energetic guy up there, jumping on cabinets and all. I would have liked a longer set from them.

yeah, man they were great, the stage dive was a great touch by the lead singer!

I got talking to the lead singer of the first support act (I can't remember what they were called and I don't give a **** either) but I would have been much happier if it was the All That Remains lead singer

It was deadly, wasnt mad on the 2 other bands, esp the first one.
Apparently they hung around afterwards and signed stuff and were talkin to people. Kickin myself i didnt wait around til they were leavin now!
Was also kinda surprised that all the other girls there looked about 15, the ones next to me kept shouting "i want your babies"

Must say I though All That Remains were great, just after ordering the album. It Dies Today were nothing special, especially so after seeing ATR and Trivium. The gig was fantastic although one thing...does no one know what a circle pit is?

Jesus we tried so many times to get one going but everyone kept jumping into the middle and ****in it up and then the one time we got one going somone fell over and the whole thing just degenerated into another mosh...

Oh and was it just me or did I see Bealieu outside before the gig signing stuff?

Yup, we waited around afterwards. The support acts came out first and hung around. The guitarist from All That Remains with the long hair swapped shoes with some guy from Limerick! They were all just hangin around drinkin beers and talkin and signin ****. The singer from It Dies Today called the show one of their top 5 ever cuz he said the crowd rocked...

Then after about an hour, Corey and Paolo from Trivium came out and were happy to stand around and sign stuff and do the whole photo thing. They were really layed back as well. Matt and Travis took longer to come out but when they came out they were on the same kinda buzz. Heafy was swamped and Travis was chatting away to anyone and everyone!

Paolo told me that when they come back in March, it's gonna be the Unholy Alliance tour with what looks like Slayer and Machine Head! Can't wait for that! :D I was also talking to a guy who filmed the gig. He was official and travelling with the band. He said that they're only filming select shows and they'll all appear on a DVD sometime in the future. Would be cool to see the Ambassador appear on that. He seemed pretty sure it would.

it wasn't 18's plus, there were more -18's then +18's there, if you wanted to go to the balcony and get booze you had to show ID but appart from that it was anyone and everyone could get in once you had a ticket

Tough break man. It took me about 30 minutes to get one, they were like gold dust.

mayordenis, you could not be more wrong. If you knew any All That Remains material you would have loved that show.

That was my first Metal gig. I'd love to see that combination again. Was there aggro between them?

major agro, kerry said something about him thinking everything MH had done since burn my eyes was crap but that burn my eyes was one of his favorite albums ever.rob flynnn called him fat or something like that and they just had goes at each other for a while.i'd love that tour, missed slayer this year but saw MH last time they came and they were something else.

Its not strange for the two of them to play shows together, they both played at Download Festival and Machine Head replaced Mastodon or Hatebreed(can't remember which) at one of the Unholy Alliance gigs with Slipknot.
And im sure one of Kerry's petty fights doesn't get in the way of who they tour with.

Actually Robb tried to make up with Kerry backstage at that gig. They were talking about how good Through the ashes.... was and Robb went to shake his hand and make peace but Kerry knocked it away

I really want this gig to happen!! :D:D:D

We asked him are they comimg back for sure in March, as Heafy said "We will see you in March" and Paolo said that they would be. This led me to ask him who they would be coming over with and he said that it looks like Slayer and Machine Head. He said it would be under the title of the Unholy Alliance Tour.

That led me to ask him, no, to tell him, not to skip Ireland like the UH Tour did last time. He said that he couldn't have a say in that and that it was up to Slayer's booking agent... It looks like the tour is well into being organised... :D

One of them also mentioned something about the band being asked to have a headline slot at next year's Download but don't quote me on that! ;)

sweet jesus that would be amazing, but the UH alliance tour last time had 4 bands (Slayer, Mastodon, Slipknot and Hatebreed) so who's the 4th band?

There were a lot of people there who wouldn't have passed for 12, i doubt you would have had a problem.

Slayer would definately come back after having two sold out gigs in June and Machine Head haven't been here since '03,and that was one of their favorite gigs on that tour

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,552 ✭✭✭Steoob

OMG jesus christ if that gig ever happens the world will just end... slayer are my favourite band and machine head are my second.... o dear god
