John McGahern, the country's most celebrated living novelist has had many of his works adapted for the big screen and for televsion. Leitrim's Cinemobile project and the Irish Film Archive have joined forces to present these films as a body of work for the first time. The films on show will include the feature film Korea, the made for television film The Rockingham Shoot, the TV serialisation of Amongst Women, short films Swallow and Wheels and the recently completed documentary profile of the writer Private World.

The event coincides with the long-awaited publication of the writer's memoirs and will run in tandem with Leitrim's Green Festival.

It will also include contributions from the film-makers and from leading film academics such as Luke Gibbons.
