Going to Paris for a few days next month and looing for some advice on travel when i get there. I intend to use the metro as much as possible.

I've heard the best option is to by a 3 days ticket for the metro.

So anyone in the know know of a particular ticket we can buy at charles de gaul airport for the Metro which will get us to Paris city center and also around paris for 3 days.

    Thanks

    Hi

I was in Paris a few mths ago and the was we worked it was from the airport to paris we got a bus. the bus's are waiting out side the airport and they will take u in to the middle of paris. from there then get the metro to where ever ur stayin, find out the name of the station that u should get of because u havent a hope of finding it otherwise. as regards the tickets for the metro u can buy a block of 10 tickets for something like €12 which is very good value. that will get u all around the city on the metro. When goin back to the airport make sur u know where u got off the bus cause u can get the bus from there back to the airport. Hope this helps. send me a pm if u need any more info :)

    Hi Guys,
    Thanks for the help.
    That site is great.
I just put in the airport and where i am going to and it gave me the route - in french though :)

    Looks like there's a 3-zone 3 day metro pass for €18 too.

Charles de Gaulle is in Zone 5 so if you get a ticket for Zones 1-3 you will not be able to exit at CDG and there are always inspectors there. Disneyland is in Zone 5 too so the same would apply.

You would be better off taking either the shuttle bus to Paris which stops in Opera or taking the RER there and then purchasing a 3 day metro ticket for zones 1 and 2 which covers all of the city centre. The RER from CDG passes through some rough areas so be careful with your luggage or else take the direct train there. You can get a 3 day metro ticket in any metro station either from the cashier or at a vending machine.

Enjoy Paris, its lovely in October.

Do the small shuttle buses (VW minibuses) not take you direct to your hotel (for €25) ?
