I have no idea what price this horse is going to be but Black Falcon has popped up in my notebook as one to back for the win next time out. Race conditions ideal tomorrow. I'll be on.

    try 14/1 on betfair

14-1 seems about fair. Black Falcon showed a hint last time out that he could be returning to old form, old form that saw him win better races than this. Essentially for me he's a horse that I've been watching for a while and sometimes when we see a race where a big priced winner prevails the commentator often says "Well if you look far enough back in his form.......he was begining to show signs recently" etc.. I think he's definitely worth a small each way.

Only 10's in PP. Their early prices are crap!

MIXING won it's last race a class below this and looked to have found the right distance that day. It is a slightly longer distance today but the ground will suit and it is low weighted. Although it is stepping up a class here, it's last win tells me that it can handle the jump and a speculative each way bet is advised at 20/1.

a horse has jumped from 50/1 to 20/1 in this race i am not sure what his name is.it is something burning.

Very poor, sorry lads. Slowly away and never got into it. The ground isn't enough of an excuse...he had every chance today.

no worries a tip is a tip.

Ya, he finished 2nd last, just 2l ahead of my granny in her wheelchair! LOL

ah man, what a day, lost everything I touched, about 7 or 8 win bets & all lost so far, only one more to go (lose too no doubt!)

Fade2black, even tried your trixie you mentioned earlier, they looked a decent bet, that's even down the pot! ahaha that's what I get!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

Did the Trixie myself, banasan looked an unlucky loser...was running on pretty well but got the final fence all wrong.

With regards Black Falcon, it looked last time like he was coming back to something like his old form and I felt that he was nicely treated today based on that form. It wasn't to be.

ye & i watched tiffaney gardens have it all taken away nearing the end, looked prominent all the way through, duno what happened the 3rd one though if it;s off even.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 678 ✭✭✭iloveireland

i had one winner and 4 losers today.

potts of magic was my first bet of the day and got him at 8/1.but half them winnings went on other horses.the rest goes on beer.

Third one just won. Pity really, I really fancied Tiffany Gardens in the first and really didnt think the couple of pounds would anchor him that much and Banasan should really have won.

Time to open a daily trixie thread methinks :D

if we did that then you would have too mANY PEOPLE THROWING IN ALL KINDS OF HORSES AND YOU WOULDNT KNOW WHICH ONES TO PICK.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

True. But that's generally true of the whole forum. I'm not going to start a daily trixie thread as people just begin to pick horses on a daily basis for the sake of it when really I may only back 3-4 horses in a week, sometimes none. If you're going to follow someone's selections in this forum it has to be with good reason i.e. the tipster has given a good reasoning behind the selection and you have researched it and agree with his deductions.

In many cases, the tipsters reasoning will be valid but for some unknown reason the horse may not perform. Remember, we're only privy to what's publicly available and with horse racing, in many cases, that's very little to go on.

fade, I actually backed bonnie noels to win & got back some of my losses for the day, :)

Also feel free to pm me your next trixie, I never did one before & we almost had success with that one, I mean a 1st a 2nd & an unpl has promise!

is a trixie the same as a treble.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

Nope. A Trixie consists of 4 bets involving 3 selections. The bet includes 3 doubles and 1 treble. A minimum of 2 horses must win to get a return. With a treble, they all have to win. A €5 trixie will cost ya 20 snots.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 678 ✭✭✭iloveireland

would you reccomend doing one or do the odds have to be high for each horse to win anything.

so if i was to do one then i would write on my docket 5 euro trixie and then the 3 horses.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

Ah yeah, I don't mind doing trixies to be honest...they may not be for others but they're not the worst bet you can do.

Just write your three selections and €5 Trixie...a lot of bookies won't have a clue what it is or how much it is so you'll have to tell them that it's 4 bets...5x4=20
